Information technology (IT) equipment manufacturer Epson will open a business services center in Novira Plaza this summer, real estate developer Novira Capital has informed LETA. Information on Epson's Latvian website shows that the company is currently actively looking for employees for the business services center.
Eriks Bergmans, head of agency and partner at real estate company Colliers Baltics, said that Epson's decision to open a new business services center in Riga is an example of Latvia's ability to offer a positive business environment for world-renowned companies. In the context of the Baltic market, this decision will create a significant number of new jobs in Riga.
"Recently we have seen a number of international companies opening offices here. Lithuania and Estonia have not seen such an influx of large global brands recently," said Bergmans.
As reported, Epson is investing EUR 6 million in the office. 150 new jobs are planned for the Latvian office.
The Epson business services center will employ people in support and internal functions that are not directly customer-facing.
"Epson is committed to cementing a long-term presence in Riga, investing in the local economy and, importantly, supporting talented people. Our new office is designed with collaboration, diversity, equality and progression at the center, creating an environment where every team member can thrive," Epson Europe COO Rob Clark said earlier.
Seiko Epson Corporation (Epson) is one of the world's largest manufacturers of printers and information and imaging equipment.
