Taking the next step in the company’s development, LIDO is launching a large-scale project – the creation of a new production, warehouse, and office building “LIDO House”. More than 40 million euros are planned to be invested in the implementation of the project. As part of the “LIDO House” project, a section of the historic Riga Radiotehnika factory building will be transformed – not only preserving its industrial heritage, but also contributing to urban revitalization through a socially responsible approach. As part of the project, the building’s technical condition will be fully restored and adapted to meet LIDO’s food production, storage, and administrative needs.

“This project is a long-term investment in LIDO’s future – in the company’s growth, in quality, and in people. The “LIDO House” will enable us to expand, implement modern production standards and workplace requirements, and strengthen our position in the Baltic market. This will serve as a strategic springboard for expanding our business in Lithuania and will provide a space where our team can work even more efficiently and deliver greater added value to our customers,” says Rita Auziņa, Chairwoman of the LIDO Management Board.

“LIDO is entering a new stage of development – a rapidly growing business demands bold decisions and purposeful investments. These are essential for expanding the company’s geographical presence and successfully entering new markets. Close collaboration with the LIDO Management Board and the company’s achievements to date create a strong sense of confidence in its future potential. At this point, investment is not merely a logical step – it is a strategically critical prerequisite for sustainable growth and for solidifying LIDO’s leadership position. I am particularly pleased that among the various potential locations and countries in the Baltics, LIDO House will be located in the Republic of Latvia, in Riga,” emphasizes LIDO Supervisory Board Chairman, Ivar Vendelin.

The new facility is expected to provide LIDO with even greater growth potential and a strong foundation for enhancing its competitiveness. The plant will significantly increase food production capacity – up to 100 tons per day – while fully complying with Riga’s zoning and construction regulations. Upon completion of the project, LIDO aims to obtain the FSSC 22000 food safety certification, which will ensure internationally recognized quality standards and open opportunities for the company’s products to compete in European retail chains.

“LIDO House” will be part of an ambitious retail park complex with a total area of 88 000 m². The complex will feature “Apollo Kino”, “Skypark”, “Euronics”, “KFC”, “Sportland”, “Sinsay”, and other well-known entertainment, restaurant and retail brands, while “LIDO House”, with its 16 000 m², will become a key component of the park, providing jobs for approximately 250 employees. The total investment in the retail park will amount to around 100 million euros, granting the project significant economic importance.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of next year, while the full commissioning and official opening of the complex is planned for the summer of 2027 – coinciding with LIDO’s 40th anniversary.

The project is owned and developed by LTD “KP4” and LTD “KP3”, with whom LIDO has signed a long-term, 20-year lease agreement. Both companies are owned by Estonian entrepreneur Ivar Vendelin.

“We are happy we have signed a long-term lease contract with LIDO, one of the most well-known and loved brands in Latvia and Baltics. LIDO with its 16 000 m2 will be the most important anchor tenant in our retail park. We are already half way through the development stage and see that it’s a real pleasure to cooperate with a tenant who has clear vision, needs and wishes,” says Peeter-Jaak AitKP4” chairman of the board.

The project's architectural and technical solutions were developed by the architectural and engineering firm SEP. “We at “SEP” are truly honored to collaborate with such a well-known and highly respected Latvian brand as LIDO. Projects of this size are always both a responsibility and an opportunity to demonstrate the professionalism of our team. Our task is to develop solutions for LIDO that ensure sustainability, efficient resource use, and high precision in project execution. The “SEP” engineering team will deliver high-quality technical solutions that meet modern safety and energy efficiency standards, as well as the client’s business needs. We are confident that through close cooperation with the client and the project team, we will ensure the successful implementation of the project,” says Oļegs Umanskis, Commercial Director of the architecture and engineering company SEP.

During the building’s reconstruction, LIDO aims to achieve BREEAM sustainability certification – a testament to the company’s commitment to sustainable business practices and responsible stewardship.
